Installing Your Firebob

We use a network of recommended Firebob installers. We can put you in touch with your local installer or you can contact them directly using the link below.

Find an Installer

If you have your own installer or builder, then please feel free to put them in touch with us for any assistance they might require. The installation video below gives a good overview of a typical install.

Installation

The Firebob can be installed by any competent person provided it is installed in-line with local building regulations. In the UK, any installation will need to be signed-off by your local building control officer or a certified heating engineer, such as a HETAS registered person. You can search our list of installers here

…but please let us know if you need any help finding an installer.

New build or home extension?

We can liaise with your architect or contractor to make incorporating the Firebob into your build a smooth process. We can provide technical drawings and CAD data which may prove useful at the building design stage.

Take a look at our installation video for a clearer idea of the process.
In our tutorial, you’ll see the FireBob is being installed on a pitched ceiling,
but the same method applies to flat ceilings.

Fixing brackets

Let us know if you are suspending the Firebob from a flat roof, pitched roof, or floor joists. We have fixing brackets for all occasions! We can also suspend from concrete ceilings, and from inside fireplace openings. We can even wall-mount the Firebobs.

We can send you the fixing bracket prior to delivery of the Firebob so that you can get a head start on any building work whilst your Firebob is being built.

Flues

The internal single wall flue coming from the Firebob to the fixing bracket is included with your fire. We will make this the perfect length for your ceiling height.

Any external flue or roof flashing is not included as the requirements differ with each installation. We can quote you for these parts or your installer may wish to provide them.

The Firebob 90 and Firebob 100 operate on a 200mm diameter flue, whereas the Firebob 69 operates on a 150mm diameter flue.

In most installations the flue can go straight up and out of the roof, but occasionally flue routing can be more complicated, involving joggles or exiting through side walls, but fear not, we can help!

How long do installations take?

Fitting is typically done in two visits. The first visit to install the ceiling fixing bracket and external flue and roof flashing. The second visit to attach the Firebob and internal flue up to the fixing bracket.

It can all be done in one hit but we usually recommend fitting the ceiling bracket first, and then you can give us a dimension from the bracket down to the floor so that we can be sure to make the correct length of internal flue before sending that to you with the fire.
